Buy Car SMART News: The new April 2006 issue of Consumer Reports magazine names the "Top Pick" vehicles of the year, based on a variety of factors such as safety, reliability, and value. This year, all ten of the top makes and models are Japanese. This is the first year that no American models have made this important list.

Honda claimed five of the ten spots, while Toyota, Subaru, and Nissan claimed the remaining spots.

The Honda Civic Takes It All

Buy Car SMART News: The new re-designed 2006 Honda Civic has run away with the honors. Motor Trend magazine has given it the prestigious "Car of the Year" award which is something all car makes strive for. They use the award in their advertising because they understand that consumers place a great deal of respect and importance on the award.

If the Motor Trend award wasn't enough, Consumer Reports magazine, in the 2006 annual auto issue (April), has named the 2006 Honda Civic as its "Top Pick" in the small sedan category.
