It's a well known fact that there are dirty car dealers out there, mixed in with the good dealers. However, it's hard to tell one from the other. Therefore, the best strategy is to simply assume they are all bad and stay on your toes.
One of the most risky places in the dealership for consumers is in the finance manager's office. This is the guy (or girl) who draws up the paperwork for you to sign. This is where the extras get slipped into the deal. This is where "mistakes" are made. This is where most lies are told. This is where blank contracts get signed. This is where interest rates get padded. This is where agreed upon prices never make it to the actual contract. So watch this guy and his slight-of-hand.
